“But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done, and there is no respect of persons.” Col. 3:25.

“For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good or whether it be evil.” Ec. 12 :14.

It is a known biblical fact that each individual is being judged by his manner of conduct and his dealing with his fellow man. God in His mercy gives us understanding of the way we must live to be pleasing in His sight. God gives us all our choice. We can live for Him and do His will at all times, or we can go on in sin, but you must remember that there is an all seeing eye from on high watching you. You may think no one sees the wrongs you do, but God is still on the throne and sees every move that you make, so you can’t do wrong and get by.

We read in Prov. 28:13, “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.” But this is not all, the words of Christ are to be reconciled now. Reconciliation may in some cases require a mere confession of wrong doing. If the individual has wronged someone in any way it is his duty to make it right. This is the Bible teaching, “If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall live, he shall not die.” Ezek. 33:15. So God requires those who desire life to set right their former wrongs, and turn from their wicked ways. The Lord will give them rest to their souls. Let us study the picture on the front of this tract and say to ourselves, “Will God be pleased if I were to do a thing like this?” The answer would be No. He would not be pleased about it, for you can’t do wrong and get by. Now we shall notice what the Bible has to say about wrong doing.

Jesus said, “Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.” John 8:34.

Paul said, “When ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.” Romans 6:20.

Peter said, “Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin;…to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.” 2 Peter 2 :14, 17.

“Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” James 4 :4.

“And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness,” 1 John 5 :19. “Ungodly sinners-walking after their own lusts-having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage. These be they who separate themselves [from the truth and from the doctrine of sinless life] sensual, having not the Spirit.” Jude 15,16,19.

Those who do not sin are born of God, know God, and have His righteousness, while on the other hand, those that commit sin are the servants of sin and are doing the Devil’s work, hence belong to him, are of the Devil and not the children of God at all.

I pray God to grant that souls may awake to righteousness and sin not, because you can’t do wrong and get by.

YOU CAN’T DO WRONG AND GET BY

There’s a God who is standing at heaven’s door,
He’s looking this universe o’er;
And He sees each mortal with a searching eye,
You can’t do wrong and get by.

Chorus

You can’t do wrong and get by,
No matter how much you may try;
Nothing hidden can be, everything He doth see,
You can’t do wrong and get by.

Out into the darkness you alone may go,
And seeds for the wicked one sow;
There’s an eye that’s watching from the throne on high,
You can’t do wrong and get by.

Yes, He knows your secrets, everything you do
He knows that your life is untrue;
You can never deceive Him, there’s no use to try,
You can’t do wrong and get by.
