“Bless
the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits…”
Psalm 103:2
In the rush and problems of life, it is beneficial to take time to
REMEMBER the blessings of the Lord and the benefits of having Him as
a personal savior and friend.
What a blessing to remember when the Lord saved us and forgave us of
all of our sin. We would all be very different people if it hadn’t
been for the power and love of Christ. Let us not forget the
bondage, loneliness, and misery that we experienced before our
salvation. Do you remember when the joy of the Lord flooded your
heart? Do you remember the freedom you had over self and the world?
Let the memories of the past be an encouragement today.
I have observed people start out for God and through time slowly
backslide. I wonder if they have forgotten their testimony of how
wonderful it was when they experienced the new birth in Christ. Let
us not forget His benefits.
Let us never forget, but remember, the times the Lord healed our
bodies. Reflect upon the times that the Lord came to your rescue
spiritually, physically and temporally. Let us never turn back to
the things that brought heartache and grief, but let us remember
where we came from and where we are headed in Christ.
It is a
blessing and a wonderful way to witness to share your memories with
others of what God has done for you personally. Take time today and
REMEMBER God's wonderful benefits and love.

Consider the words to the following song written by Dottie Rambo:
Remind Me Dear Lord
The things that I love, and hold dear to my heart
Are just borrowed they’re not mine at all
Jesus only lets me use them to brighten my life
So remind me, remind me dear Lord
Chorus
Roll back the curtain of memories now and then
Show me where you brought me from
Oh, and where I could have been
Remember I’m human, and humans forget
So remind me, remind me dear Lord
Nothing good have I done to deserve God’s own Son
I’m not worthy of the scars in His hand
Yet He chose the road to Calv’ry to die in my stead
Why He loved me, I can’t understand |
