"...But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not..." Luke 22:32

Let us face this day with courage and hope knowing that Jesus is praying for His children. It is a blessing when we are in a battle or trial to know that there are people that are praying for us and bringing our need before the throne of God. But how wonderful to know that Jesus himself, the Son of God, is praying for us personally.

Often times people pray generic prayers to cover many people. "Help all the sick and the unsaved." Jesus is not just petitioning God in a general sense for us, but he is calling our name out to the throne of God. What assurance it gives us to realize that in the tumultuous times of life that Jesus is praying for us. When you become overwhelmed and feel you are about to be overcome, be still, and know that Jesus is praying for you. He is standing at the right hand of the throne of God petitioning the Father in your behalf. In our difficulties and temptations, be assured that Christ, as our great high priest, is interceding for us and praying that our faith fail not.

In the context of this scripture, Jesus was praying for Peter before Peter denied the Lord. Christ's prayer went beyond Peter's failure. Jesus was praying that Peter's faith would be strong enough, that even after failure, that he would turn back to God. If you have failed the Lord and fallen short of His grace, listen and know that Jesus is praying for you that your faith fail not.

Jesus is interested and concerned about everything that touches our life. When our words and mind are incapable of expressing our need to God, Jesus is bridging that gap for us. There is a song that says "Someone is praying for you." While you may have others praying for you today, take comfort in knowing that our Savior and Lord is calling our your name, for He is praying for you.
