“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” I Cor. 15:58

The enemy will do all He can to discourage God’s ministering servants. He does not limit himself to pulpit ministers, for all God’s children are called to serve and minister to the needs of other people. The enemy will whisper in your ear, “It’s no use. You’re not accomplishing anything.” He will try to make us think that we would be better off just giving up our place of service and doing something else. He will magnify in our minds and hearts those who don’t appreciate truth and what we are striving for in the kingdom of God.

Know that God wants us to be steadfast and unmovable in service. While it may seem in vain at times, we must know that in the Lord it is accomplishing things that we cannot see. The enemy is coming hard against God’s people. He loves nothing more than to discourage those who are giving their lives for the sake of the gospel.

It is difficult to minister effectively in a state of discouragement. My brothers and sisters, if you feel like running from the front of the battle, if you are tired of being falsely accused and misrepresented, if you are just weary, lift up your head. God will honor your steadfastness and courage. Go forward with hope of a better tomorrow. If everyone ran, who would be left? You are needed and necessary to God’s true children and to the lost. Renew your vows before God to abound in His work.

Stay steadfast in truth and doctrine and do not swerve away from the path that God has placed you on. May God richly bless and reward every weary soldier of the cross as you persevere in this wonderful way of truth.
